Byron’s practice is focused on inbound and outbound cross-border taxation matters and the structuring of public and private mergers, acquisitions, financings and reorganizations. Byron earned his Chartered Professional Accountant designation in Alberta in 2002 and completed his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toronto in 2007, where he received the CCH Canadian Ltd. Prize in tax policy and the Thorsteinssons prize in taxation.

Byron is a frequent writer and speaker on taxation matters, including for the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Canadian Tax Journal and Tax Notes International, and has been a professional development instructor for the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada and Alberta. Byron is the treasurer for the Alberta Advisory Board for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind and volunteers his time to other not-for-profit organizations.
