Mark has a diverse background in business, accounting and law and brings a pragmatic approach to tax planning and dispute resolution. He is accredited as a Chartered Professional Accountant, a Certified Public Accountant in Arizona, and a Certified Fraud Examiner.
In 2014, Mark completed his Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction from MacEwan University. Afterward, he articled with an international accounting firm and attained his CPA designation in 2017. Mark then managed his own accountancy practice, establishing three offices across Alberta and BC over a 5-year period. Outside of finance and law, Mark has managed a local family business.
Mark graduated law school with distinction and was awarded the George Bligh O’Connor silver medal in law, the Dr. Alexander Smith, QC Prize in Contract, the Bishop & McKenzie Prize in Corporations Law and the Joseph Paul Brumlick Scholarship for Excellence in Advocacy. He also served as the Alberta Law Review’s treasurer, volunteered in the Student Legal Services Civil Law Project, and participated in the Bowman Tax moot and Davies Corporate/Securities Law moot.
In his free time, Mark enjoys skiing, hitting the gym, and playing chess.
