Byron’s practice is focused on the structuring of public and private mergers, acquisitions, financings and reorganizations and inbound and outbound cross-border taxation matters. Byron is a lawyer and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CA) and is ranked as a Canadian Lexpert® leading tax lawyer.

Byron is a frequent writer and speaker on taxation matters, including for the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Canadian Tax Journal and Tax Notes International.  Byron is a sessional lecturer for the University of Calgary Faculty of Law and a professional development instructor for the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada and Alberta. Byron is the treasurer for the Alberta Advisory Board for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind and volunteers his time to other not-for-profit organizations.
