Athena is passionate about finding innovative and practical solutions to her clients’ legal and commercial challenges. She takes particular interest in tax planning, corporate reorganizations and assisting on the acquisition, disposition and commercialization of businesses and assets.
Athena received both her Bachelor of Commerce, Finance (with Distinction) and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Alberta. Prior to commencing her legal career, Athena worked as a Business Development Analyst at an oilfield service company in Calgary, as a Business Associate for GE Capital and in AIMCo’s Compliance Department. During law school, she volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada under the Tax Advocacy Project and was a Donald G.H. Bowman National Tax Moot Champion (2018).
Outside of work Athena enjoys skiing, cars, working out and travelling to new places. One of her most memorable trips was to Siberia (Krasnoyarsk, Russia) to watch her siblings compete in the XXIX Winter Universiade Games.
