Athena received her Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction, majoring in Finance, in 2015 and her Juris Doctor in 2018, both from the University of Alberta and was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 2019. Currently, she is working towards obtaining her In Depth Tax certification.

Athena is passionate about finding innovative and practical solutions to her clients’ legal and commercial challenges. She takes particular interest in tax planning, corporate reorganizations and assisting on the acquisition, disposition and commercialization of businesses and assets.

Prior to commencing her legal career, Athena worked as a Business Development Analyst at an oilfield service company in Calgary, as a Business Associate Intern for GE Capital and in AIMCo’s Compliance Department. During law school, Athena volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada under the Tax Advocacy Project and was a Donald G.H. Bowman National Tax Moot Champion (2018).

Outside of work, Athena enjoys skiing, cars, working out and travelling to new places. One of her most memorable trips was to Siberia (Krasnoyarsk, Russia) to watch her siblings compete in the XXIX Winter Universiade Games.
