Melanie’s practice encompasses a broad spectrum of taxation law matters, including corporate and personal tax planning, corporate reorganizations, and mergers and acquisitions.
She earned her Juris Doctor (with Distinction), Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Alberta. Prior to joining Felesky Flynn LLP, Melanie clerked at the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta and practiced law at a prominent Western Canadian law firm.
During her studies, Melanie received numerous academic awards, including the Felesky Flynn LLP Scholarship in Taxation Law and the Canadian Petroleum Tax Society Prize in Corporate Taxation. She contributed to the legal community as a member of the Alberta Law Review and gained valuable industry experience during her summer position with an Alberta-based financial institution.
Before pursuing her legal career, Melanie worked as a Contracts Administrator for a leading North American construction company.
Outside of the office, Melanie enjoys staying active and exploring Edmonton’s vibrant restaurant scene.
